Volunteer Fundraising Guidelines

Step 1: Select your event and identify your audience

Think about the people you want to reach or involve. Choose an activity or event that best fits the interests and tastes of your audience. Fundraisers are solely responsible for the planning and execution of the event. The Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust (BHCT) can assist with event know-how and will acknowledge donors who have provided their name, gift amount and address.

Step 2: Let us know!

Tell us your plans so we can help ensure your success. Please contact Laura Lyons by telephone at 298-0153 or email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Step 3: Plan Revenue and Expenses

Establish a realistic fundraising goal. Identify all anticipated expenses and possible sources of contributions from your community..

Step 4: Publicize/Promote the fundraiser

Here are some ideas on how you can publicize and promote your fundraiser:

_  Network with friends, family and colleagues to gain their support and participation.

_ Use social networking sites to send out information on the event.

_  Encourage people to donate to the fundraiser if they can’t attend the event. Have a plan in place prior to the event to accommodate this. Contact BHCT to set up your own secure fundraising pledge page.

Step 5: After Your Fundraiser

Email to Laura Lyons at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to submit the contributions you raised.

Cheques should be made out to Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust with the name of the event in the notes field; credit card contributions should also be submitted through the use of BHCT’s online pledge page.
